AGRICULTURAL MECHANIZATION OFFICER – NAIROBI

Our client is invested heavily in agricultural mechanization and seek a personnel who is well versed with the operations of various farm equipment ranging from tractors, levelers, balers, choppers,
fertilizer spreaders, seeders, harrows, plows, wagons & trailers, sprayers etc.

JOB PURPOSE: Coordinate and monitor smooth implementation of various mechanization activities in Kenya.
Business development for the equipment, Coordination of Operators, assignment of duties, man and manage the mechanization arm of the organization as an income stream making economic sense to the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



. Management of the mechanization arm of the business.
. Ensure effective process of the planned and approved activities and strategies in the target communities.
. Promote improved farming through use of various technologies.
. Facilitate balanced coordination with local leaderships and individual farmers
. Ensure project activities are implemented in coordination with the management and other key partners.
. Prepare monthly and quarterly plans for effective execution of the project activities.
. Participate in periodic program level meetings and related activities.
. Effective deployment, monitoring and evaluation-Ensure program quality, strengthening and consolidation through continuous reviews of the work with farm partners and the tractor/machine operators.
. Capture monitoring data using standard tools and regularly review and document progress against indicators, lessons learned, and challenges encountered, in order to ensure the achievement of performance targets and adherence to technical standards, methodologies and guidelines.
. Prepare and submit timely monthly meetings detailing work done, the progress and achievement, the challenges faced and how they were tackled and recommendations for subsequent months.
. Networking and Coordination – Establish close coordination and cooperation with various counties agricultural offices and individual farmers, communities, project beneficiaries and other partners at project level for business development.
. Work closely with the various counties in order to provide periodic program reports for planning purpose.
. Effective Resource Management – Prepare monthly cash projections to facilitate field activities and field staff.

REQUIRED SKILLS

. A people person, alertness, Participatory and team approach to work and behavior.
. Proactive in liaising and problem solving.
. Excellent interpersonal, networking, communication, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
. Excellent digital literacy including navigating email, internet and MS WORD and PowerPoint.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

. Diploma in Automotive Engineering/Agri Biosystems engineering.
. Minimum of 4 (Four) years previous professional work experience in agriculture and mechanical engineering.
. Experience in mechanization management.



MONTHLY GROSS SALARY: Ksh. 70,000 – 90,000
